When: Every semester, Fridays 2:00-4:00 pm, starting in week 3. For Fall 2019 the start date is September 20
Who: Anyone who wants to sharpen their skills at putting words together in interesting ways. Open to the community as well as to UI students, staff and faculty.
Why: Because, despite all your work-related tasks and weird formal college assignments and , you know in your heart that writing can actually be fun.
This group is designed as a space for writers of all genres to practice and strengthen their creative writing and workshopping skills. Through exercises, prompts, readings, and group critiques, we will explore successful literary techniques and discuss ways we can apply them in our own work. Members are encouraged to publish their work in Voices, the Writing Center’s annual literary journal.
