
Learn more about this faculty-led program designed specifically for the Honors Program and students who are majoring and minoring in Ancient Civilization and Classical Languages. This three-week program will reconstruct and interpret life in ancient Greece through the study of literature, art history, and archaeology. The program is led by Debra Trusty, associate professor of instruction, classics, in the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

In order to prepare for this trip, all participants will enroll in a one semester-hour course during the spring 2026 semester. The course will meet to discuss the sites, objects, and sources that students will encounter. The course satisfies an Honors course requirement as well as Honors experiential credit. Additionally, it fulfills requirements for at least two majors (classical languages and ancient civilizations) and five minors (ancient civilizations, Greek, Latin, classical languages, health and the human condition).
