Title: Applying the Discontinuous Galerkin Method to a Forest Simulator and Utilizing Fast Computation in Julia

Abstract: In this talk, we will explore the components of a continuous forest model and show how to apply the Discontinuous Galerkin method, which approximates the solution as a polynomial over a discretized grid. Furthermore, I will provide examples of important calculations implemented in Julia and progressively optimize these functions by maximizing speed and minimizing allocations.
