I am a PhD student in art history, currently writing my dissertation in the field of modern French art and related science. Originally from South Carolina, I have a long history of teaching, previously working as a high-school science teacher before teaching courses in rhetoric and art history here at Iowa. My academic career has always been deeply interdisciplinary, and I greatly enjoy working with students to make cross connections among different fields, particularly in writing, where thinking is most fully activated. Break down those boundaries! In my personal life, I enjoy soccer, basketball, science fiction, cooking, and off-the-beaten-path road trips and food joints.
